There is no other words to describe this song than being a f*cking banger. Now imagine this is the first song you hear Felguk drop at Electric Daisy Carnival Vegas? Yea, this is the one they used to break in their audience. I easily would’ve gone into cardiac arrest at 1:25 when the song drops; the bass there must’ve been enormous. Luckily Felguk are back at work now, after a few months hiatus, having already dropped a huge track this 2011 with “Blow Out“. I’m loving the DirtyLoud shoutout in this mashup. Goest to show Brazilian electro house duos got each others back. Peace.
Hailing from Colorado, Pretty Lights has one of the most original sounds in the electronic scene today, and that’s why he’s one of our favorites here at VelectroRaptor. The only way to describe his music is super fucking chill, and meant to be listened to with a joint or two being passed around. This new release, which was dropped on June 21st in honor of the first day of summer, captures the sound of summer perfectly. I’ve literally been listening to this song on repeat for an hour because it puts your mind in the perfect place. This song incorporates 8 different summer tracks which relate to summer including some Sublime, which is just a testimony to how fucking talented Pretty Lights is. I would love to see this guy in concert – it would just be a euphoria overload. So spark up a j, listen to this dope ass song, and then download it. Now.
This song also reminds me of Pretty Lights’ “Shining Bright Despite The Plight” – another one of my favorites from PL. Check it!

When I hear a new mashup artist or a new song, 9 times out of 10 I think it sucks. It just seems to be the mashup genre has gotten way out of control with artist trying to cram 18 different artists into one song. But every once in awhile you find an artist who can put together 2 songs to make them even better. PRFFTT (pronounced Profit) does just that. Sam Driver, the mind behind PRFFTT, is only a college sophomore but has some serious talent as an artist. Heartbreaking in the Deep is a fuckin cut, but Cooler than Roxanne is my personal favorite. Take a listen and I know you’ll want these for your next pregame.

Think “The Funeral” by Band of Horses is a good song? Thought Butch Clancy’s remix of it was fantastic? If you said yes to either of those then hit the play button. The build up is twice as intense, the drop will melt your face (1:37), and by the end of the song you’ll have to change your pants, so even though it’s just Monday treat yourself to some fun.
I’m not normally a huge fan of mash-ups, but this one stands out. Brenton Duvall has been gaining popularity as a producer of original beats and mash-ups. This track mixes Semisonic’s 90’s classic, “Closing Time,” with Biggie’s “Whatchu Want.” These songs go perfectly together, so check this out because I guarantee not many mash-ups will grace this site.
